Blue Apron is a meal delivery program that ships you fresh ingredients for your week’s meals, along with a detailed recipe card to provide you with instructions on how to make each meal. Blue Apron comes in two options: a two-person or family plan.
But now inquiring minds want to know — can you try Blue Apron out for free? Let’s find out.
Is there a Free Trial for Blue Apron?
Unfortunately, Blue Apron does not offer a free trial. However, while Blue Apron does not offer a free trial, per se, they do offer you $50 off over your first two orders, or $25 each for your first two boxes. As you’ll see in our price breakdown later, this can amount to 2.5 servings per week if you have a 2-person plan, or roughly 3 servings in a 4-person plan. Double that and we’re talking about 5 or 6 servings for free, or 2.5 to 3 full meals.
So while not necessarily a free trial, there are some free meals involved. That’s not a bad deal!
How Long is the Free Trial for Blue Apron?
Technically, since the $50 off is spread over two weeks, you will subscribe to Blue Apron for two weeks.
How Do I Cancel the Free Trial for Blue Apron if I Don’t Want to Keep It?
Since Blue Apron is a meal delivery service, you need to be careful about when you cancel your subscription, should you choose to end your deliveries. You need to cancel before the cutoff date for your next week’s delivery, which is a few days before your subscription ends. Otherwise, your next meals will be on their way and you will be charged full price for your subscription.
Blue Apron is flexible about letting you choose what weeks you get deliveries, however, and you don’t need to commit to every week. You can get meals one or two weeks per month if you’d like to help cut your costs but still try out some new, healthy meals each month. The cutoff dates for each week will be clearly listed on the site that lists the meal options.
To avoid any charges after your trial, you can set your account up to skip all of the meals following your trial period. If you decide to continue your Blue Apron subscription after your trail, simply go back and “un-skip” the meals you want to keep receiving, which is a much better option than forgetting and being surprised with a box of food at your doorstep. This way you can also pick and choose the meals you want for each week.
How Much Does Blue Apron Cost if I Want to Keep It?
As you can see below, Blue Apron lays out its pricing in a very easy-to-understand manner, even breaking things down to price per serving so you can better understand what you are paying for each meal. For some, this may seem like a deal to receive new recipes with fresh ingredients each week, while others may find it to be a bit expensive.
